So I walk into the kitchen because the ding on the toaster-oven tells me that my chicken wings are done, and there I see a housefly buzzing about. With a natural instinct, I grab the kitchen towel, roll it up, and slowly, carefully watch it until THWACK!! It's on the ground wriggling to its death, and I'm yelling "SUKKAH PLEASE!!" at it.
This also recalls the time I smashed a cockroach with a slipper and then throwing my arms up in triumph yelling "SUKKAH PLEASE!!"
There's something about smashing bugs in interesting ways that is so much fun!Current Mood: accomplished

| » Shuttle Adventures |
So, I needed to go get my ID badge for work, simple enough, just gotta head over to "Sony" (I thought I worked at Sony?) and go to the security office. So I go up to the perpetually grumpy security guy at the front desk and ask him if he could call the shuttle over to the "Kelly Building." He says "There is no shuttle to the Kelly building...." (I have a confused look because I was just told by my supervisor to ask this guy about the shuttle) and he continues... "You gotta take it over to Smith, and from there catch a shuttle to Sony." I just nod and say ok as he picks up the phone. So about 10 minutes later, the guy gets here, and he drops me off at Sony, I'm and out of there in 10 minutes, with my ID. Now to get back.... the shuttle driver had told me "When you're done, ask for the shuttle to go to Gate 2, and from there, tell them you need to go to the Slauson building." Easy enough. I go to the security booth, and tell the security officer. She apparently has no idea what I'm talking about, or what to do, but then has an idea, and calls a shuttle. I get on, tell the guy I need to go to the Slauson building, and says he can't take me there, we go around the block, and I'm back where I started. It's noon by now, I left at 11. So eventually, we figure out where gate 2 is, and the same shuttle driver, comes around to pick me up again. He drops me off at the Culver Studios (another Sony property) at gate 2, and I walk up to the security booth, and guess what? "What's the Slauson shuttle??" is not what I wanted to hear. After a shite load of confusion, we eventually get in contact with the right guy, and the security gaurds learn who the Slauson shuttle dude is. I wait at the security booth for 30 mins because shuttle man is at lunch. The security gaurd was pretty cool though. Lanar? Lamar? something like that. Needless to say I got back, but it took me 2 hrs. When it should've taken 30 mins tops.

No, i'm not gonna talk about politics... just computer moniters...
you guys know those nice, big, shiny new Mac Cinema Displays, you know what I'm talking about, they come in 20'' - 23'' and 30'' flavors
well... I want one... big surprise right... well I've started saving for one, and if after Fall quarter, I still want one... Niño is buying himself a fatty moniter for Christmas.
The problem is, which one to get? Since we are students, i can get them at the bookstore at the following prices:
20": $1169
23": $1800
30": $3000
So... I consider these my possibilites:
TWO of the 20" model for $2340
ONE of the 23'' for only $500 less (considering the jump between the 20" and 23'' is $630)
or go for the gusto and get the 30"... knowing ill have to drop another $600 for a video card that can handle it...
right now im leaning towards the two 20'' models or the 23"...
thoughts? (note: as of now, NOT getting it is NOT an option =D, though common sense or a financial crisis may change that)

| » The Runaround |
So, I got my PS2 today, and the plan was to hook it up to the TV tuner on my computer, which I bought specifically for the Playstation. So I was at Best Buy, and things were going well, I had the PS2 in hand, a little cheapo memory card for $10, as opposed to the Sony $25 one, the S-Video connector for PS2, but I was missing one thing, an RCA to 1/8 inch stereo connector. Undaunted that I could find one at any other store, I made my purchase and walked briskly to my car, which was parked next to a twin 2-door Red 1996 Rav4. I parked it there just because of the rarity of such an occurance =D Anyhow, I get home hook it up, and realize that my chepo memory card needs software to run. I need to load a CD "every time the unit has been shut off or restarted"... WTF?!?! since when does a memory card need software to run?? So I go back to Besy But (which is like 10 miles away) and exhange it for the $25 card. And now, it's time to look for the cable I need for the audio... 5 stores later... I found sort've what I needed... unbelievable... anyway, at least I have audio now, and my desk entertainment center is complete..... for now...
